We have been quietly working away on the solution to the problems faced by the smaller, localised and vitally important organisations that are almost unanimously heralded by the families of dementia sufferers as the most valued by them and their loved ones.

Lengthy research carried out in which the families of dementia sufferers were asked what help they currently receive or have received in the past and which organisation was the most valued by them and their loved ones.

The results were very one-sided. A massive 92% of those surveyed stated that the best support and care came from the smaller and more localised organisations like Community & Support Groups, Social Enterprises etc.

The one thing these organisations had in common was that they were struggling financially due to the cuts in funding made by the Government and other funding sources. After 2 years of no face to face fundraising and a huge shift in the way the world works, with little technical/digital expertise amongst these small organisations, closure seemed a certainty.

We held a trustee meeting in February 2022 and the decision was made that we would support these organisations in order to keep them alive and doing what they do best - caring for dementia sufferers and assisting family members. We then went around the hospitals and care homes of Scotland searching for the best, most effective and loved support networks and went to them with our solution.
